What is Happening?
Scammers are impersonating Cyber Security Finland Oy through WhatsApp, email, and phone calls. They ask for money and personal information.

Common Scam Methods
1οΈβ£ Cryptocurrency Recovery Scams
They claim you have "blocked money" in crypto (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.) that was found in fraud investigations. They say it needs recovery through Trust Wallet.
π« RED FLAGS:
- Specific amount mentioned (91,654 EUR, etc.)
- Claims about OLAF (EU anti-fraud office)
- Asking to download AnyDesk, UltraViewer, TeamViewer
- Demanding Trust Wallet or MetaMask access
- "No upfront costs" followed by "processing fee" requests
2οΈβ£ WhatsApp & SMS Impersonation
Scammers contact you via WhatsApp or SMS claiming to be from Cyber Security Finland. They use fake names and create urgency.
π« RED FLAGS:
- Messages on WhatsApp from "official" channel
- Fake employee names (Richard Maxwell, Andrea Lazzari)
- "For privacy, contact on WhatsApp" instead of official email
- Urgent tone: "Immediate action required"
- Fake support@cyber-agency.cc email addresses
3οΈβ£ Personal Information Harvesting
They request ID documents, passport copies, bank statements as "verification" for processing.

- Requests for "POI" (Proof of Identity)
- Demands for "POR" (Proof of Residence)
- Asking for passport or national ID photos
- Requesting bank account numbers or statements
- Pressure to send quickly
4οΈβ£ Money Requests (The Final Step)
After gaining trust through the above methods, they ask for money via bank transfer or cryptocurrency.

- First request: 1,100 EUR "processing fee"
- Second request: 20,000 EUR "legal fees"
- Third request: 100,000 EUR "platform recovery"
- Requests never stop - always more money needed
- Pressure to act quickly
Real Examples We've Seen
π§ Example 1: Fake Email About Blocked Crypto
From: support@cyber-agency.cc β (NOT our domain!)
Subject: "Investigation into fraudulent platforms - Your funds recovered"
Message:
"Your account has been identified in an investigation. Over 75 fake platforms were seized. We found 91,654 EUR in blocked cryptocurrency under your name. Use Trust Wallet and AnyDesk to recover your funds. No upfront costs."

π¬ Example 2: WhatsApp Impersonation
Sender: "Richard Maxwell - Cyber Security Finland" β
Message:
"Hi, this is Richard Maxwell from Cyber Security Finland. We found suspicious activity on your account. Please open your Trust Wallet and download AnyDesk so we can verify your identity and secure your crypto. Reply on WhatsApp for privacy."

π Example 3: Document & Money Request
Sender: "Andrea Lazzari - Cyber Security FI" β
Message:
"We need POI (Proof of Identity) and POR (Proof of Residence) to process your recovery. Send passport, ID, and bank statements. Processing fee is 1,100 EUR (refundable). Send via bank transfer or crypto."
π« Legitimate companies NEVER ask for IDs via email or demand upfront fees
π° Example 4: Progressive Money Requests
Pattern: Scammers ask for increasing amounts of money
- First: "1,100 EUR processing fee" β (victim pays)
- Second: "20,000 EUR for legal fees" β (victim pays)
- Third: "100,000 EUR for platform recovery" β (victim realizes it's a scam)

How to Protect Yourself

- β Check the sender's email address carefully

- β Report suspicious messages to the platform
- β Never download software from unknown links
- β Enable two-factor authentication

- β Share passport or ID documents
- β Download AnyDesk, UltraViewer, or similar
- β Send money for "recovery" or "fees"
- β Share cryptocurrency wallet info
- β Trust WhatsApp messages claiming to be us

- 1. Call local police - File a fraud report
- 2. Contact your bank - Report the fraud, they may reverse transfers
- 3. Change passwords - Update all important account passwords
- 4. Email us - Send details to info@cybersecurity.fi
- 5. Report the account - Report the scammer on WhatsApp/email platform
